We are seeking an experienced Senior Backend Engineer with a demonstrated track record of building, shipping, and maintaining search-related backend systems to join our team today. This person should be proficient in JS/TS, NodeJS, ElasticSearch & Postgres and have an insatiable desire to stay abreast of the latest and greatest search & machine learning technologies including LLMs, Text Embedding, and beyond.

Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain backend systems for search applications using Node.js, JavaScript, and TypeScript.
Implement text embedding techniques and leverage large language models to improve search functionalities.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
Optimize and enhance database performance using PostgreSQL and other related technologies.
Participate in code reviews, ensuring high-quality standards and best practices are maintained.
Contribute to the full software development lifecycle, including planning, development, testing, and deployment.

Qualifications

Proven experience as a Backend Engineer with a strong focus on search-related systems.
Proficiency in Node.js, JavaScript, TypeScript, and PostgreSQL is essential.
Experience with large language models and text embedding techniques is highly desirable.
Familiarity with software architecture principles and design patterns.
Knowledge of Agile methodologies and CI/CD practices is a plus.
Experience with other databases such as MongoDB is advantageous.
Strong problem-solving skills and a user-focused mindset.
