Job Title: Assistant Supply Chain Manager Date: April 11, 2025 Position Reports to: Supply Chain Manager Shift: 1st Basic Duties and Responsibilities: Collaborates with production and support departments to enhance Supply Chain efficiencies. Develops and maintains processes and best practices within the Supply Chain departments. Advocates and encourages teamwork between Supply Chain departments (Inventory Control, Shipping, and Purchasing) and other departments such as production, sales, and accounting. " Assists the Supply Chain Manager planning, directing, and managing activities related to procurement, inventory, warehousing, shipping, and scheduling. " Creates tools and drives best practices, challenging team members to continuously improve Supply Chain processes. " Provides support and acts as a backup for Supply Chain Department Heads when necessary " Stays current in international transaction requirements and overseas the International Compliance activities across all departments, ensuring proper training, due diligence, and accurate procedures. " Owns the Vendor Management system, collaborating with the Purchasing Manager, Inventory Control Manager, and suppliers to help reduce costs and vendor issues, and to help improve overall efficiency. " Manages a few specific procurement activities that require coordination and collaboration among multiple departments. " Participates in new product development with sister companies and manages the transactions internally, coordinating with all stakeholders. " Collaborates with other departments to identify the optimal processes and solutions. " Develops and maintains metrics and deliverables aligned with management and corporate initiatives. " Fosters teamwork within the department to achieve objectives. " Self-starter with excellent written, oral communication, and facilitation skills. " Keeps manager informed of significant developments. " Understands and promotes the McWane Way Compass principles, values, and behaviors. " Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor. Supervisory Responsibilities: There are no direct supervisory responsibilities. However, the role will include interviewing, training; planning, assigning, and directing work throughout the Supply Chain team. Minimum Qualifications: " Bachelor's Degree plus 2 years of related experience in some part of the supply chain required; or 5 years of related experience in multiple supply chain positions (purchasing, transportation, scheduling, inventory control). " Experience with managing others preferred. " Certified in ASCM CPIM, CSCP, or other Purchasing and/or Inventory Management Certification preferred. " Computer literate; proficient with Microsoft Windows, MS Office programs and applications such as Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Power BI. Mid to high level use in Excel with ability to create pivot tables and create formulas and graphs/charts. Experience in D365 preferred. " Time and priority management is a must. " Ability to work with a diverse group of people and encourage and motivate people to take ownership and pride in their work. Demonstrated experience with driving and maintaining change preferred.
